Dental Crown: The Procedure

The procedure of dental crown:
Dental crowns are used effectively to repair severely damaged teeth that are already cracked, chipped or broken. In this procedure, you may have to visit your dental expert twice; in first session, your teeth will get examined and look for its candidature for the crown. In the second phase, the actual crown placement will be done. During the first visit, the surgeon will take proper x-ray for your teeth in order to determine the extent of decay. By examining the existing condition of teeth, you will be given proper treatment of filling the decayed portion.

In your second visit to your dentist, you will receive the actual treatment. A dentist usually takes the impression of your teeth by using paste or putty. After that, he/she provides for a protective temporary crown (the process will take at least two to three weeks). Nowadays, crowns made up of porcelain are used for making dental crowns.
